Our Community Involvement

At The Bon-Ton Stores, we care about our neighbors. Our local communities are like family to us, and we believe that our family approach to business should extend beyond our four walls. We are committed to supporting our communities, and we are proud of what our family has accomplished. Here are some of the ways we give back:

United Way's mission is to improve lives.

We believe that supporting the United Way campaign is one of the best ways to truly make a difference. Our associates can designate their contribution to the local United Way organization of their choice, reaching every town and city in our markets. United Way's mission is to improves lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good. To learn more, visit unitedway.org

We are proud to see our team members making charitable contributions of any sort. Bon-Ton’s Matching Gift Program provides a matching donation to the associate’s charitable contribution of choice; further supporting the communities in which we work, live and do business.

BRAVO (Bon-Ton Retail Associates Volunteer Outreach)

We are pleased to encourage and facilitate the ideal of service in our communities, and support associate volunteerism on a personal and store level. BRAVO encourage community service at Bon-Ton in a way that strengthens our corporate culture, our ability to grow as a business, and fosters an “Esprit de Corps” among our associates in markets we serve.

Since 1998 The Bon-Ton Stores has raised over $3.4 million for breast cancer research at The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The Medical College of Wisconsin, Lynn Sage Research Foundation, The Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota, and the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa. We are proud to support a cause, and we believe that this research is saving lives. Together, we’ll find a cure.

Goodwill Sale

Each spring and fall, our customers are encouraged to donate gently used clothing, and in return, earn a savings coupon for each item donated. With the profits generated from these donations, Goodwill Industries® can provide training for individual in our communities who might otherwise have difficulty finding work.
