Making a Difference in our home towns
At Bon-Ton, we're committed to making a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work.
What else would you expect from your "hometown store?"
United Way: We believe supporting the United Way campaign is one of the best ways to truly make a
difference. Our associates can designate their contribution to the local United Way organization of
their choice, reaching every town and city in our markets.
Matching Gift Program: Choosing charitable contributions is an individual thing. So, Bon-Ton's
matching gift program, provides a matching donation to the associate's charitable contribution of choice;
further supporting the communities in which associates work and live and in which we do business.
Community Day: Community Day is a fund-raising event for all 501c3 nonprofit and school organizations.
It's designed to provide local nonprofit organizations with a fun and easy way to raise money for their
organizations. Since 1999, Bon-Ton has raised over $63 million for schools and nonprofit organizations
through Community Day events.
Charge Against Breast Cancer: Since 1998 The Bon-Ton Stores has raised over $3.4 million for breast
cancer research at The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The Medical College of Wisconsin, Lynn Sage Research
Foundation, The Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota, and the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center
at the University of Iowa. Together, we'll find a cure.
Goodwill Sale: Each spring and fall, our customers are encouraged to donate gently used clothing, and in
return, earn a savings coupon for each item donated. With the profits generated from these donations,
Goodwill Industries® can provide training for individuals with barriers to work in our communities.
Green Initiatives: At Bon-Ton, we take seriously our commitment to social responsibility. We're dedicated
to continually identifying and supporting green practices and changing standards that will positively
benefit and impact our employees, customers, community and environment.
